Android’s Quick Draining Apps – What To Do

Colorful application app iconsAndroid devices are like our best friends. With endless gaming and networking,  your phone or tablet can really make your life easier. However, there are times that  as we use our gadgets we notice that they tend to become slower and the batteries drain faster. And if your device is new, you may think that this may be due to virus that may came with your downloaded apps. This can be possible. But basically, there are actually things you do that can cause the slow-down of your device.

What’s the culprit?

In the 3rd quarter of this year, AVG released a report that around 1 million Android users have downloaded apps that are known to be battery drainers and storage eaters. The data was derived from Google Play downloads and the selection for the downloaders was random.

Unsurprisingly, Facebook is no. 1 on the list. Facebook has so many add-on and plug-ins that will literally flood your web page with so many features which translates to slow performance.

FB can also quickly drain your battery and eat your available data storage quickly if you frequently download videos or pictures. Other than FB, a lot of social apps, downloadable games and bloatwares that if you take them in can literally make the life of your device more miserable.

If you want to know these pre-installed and downloadable apps that are seriously eating up a lot of your Android gadget, see the list. This info was reported on C|Net by Claire Reilly.

Since you cannot avoid enjoying your Andorid devices and smartphones, the best thing you could do to make life easier for you and your devices is to follow simple guidelines. For example, if you want to download an application or a game, check your available storage first. If the application is too big and you only have enough space, either delete obsolete games or apps or don’t download the app at all.

As recommended by AVG, always clear your cache every after browsing. Browsing makes you install cookies on your storage space so clear the cache that is keeping temporary files.

You must also ensure you limit the amount of data which an application is permitted to download especially when you are not using the app often.

If you have installed obsolete games or any installed apps that you seldom use, better delete them.

Sometimes the issue is in your Android’s settings especially the auto-update or auto-start option of your apps. Don’t allow this. Better set your settings to manual mode.

Make sure you sign out from the apps you are using before doing other tasks as the program may still operate on the background.

Your best protection even with the Android devices is installing an antivirus software to prevent malware, adware or spyware that are now infecting portable devices.

Keeping large volume of data can also dampen your gadget’s performance. Instead, use cloud storage or save your data on your computer.

Know your gadget’s or processor’s capacity. Check the apps you want to download if it is compatible or too large for your device’ processing speed. Lastly, turn off your gadget’s WiFi when not in use. Leaving it on always, this also uses your battery’s stored energy.

Finally, the basic thing you must remember to prolong the life and maximize the capacity of your gadget is to treat it like a precious tool. The fewer the apps it operates and with little data on it, the faster it will perform its tasks.
