Shocking Cybercrime Statistics for 2025

People all over the world are becoming more concerned about cybercrime than ever. We have recently collected some statistics on this topic and compiled them into the following video.

  • We were surprised to read that 79% of detections involved no malware at all.
  • There were 26 newly named adversaries identified in 2024.
  • The costs of cybercrime are increasing drastically and are expected to be over $10.5 trillion a year by 2025.
  • The fastest cyberattack ever took place recently. It took just 51 seconds to occur.
  • A shocking 35% of small organizations believe their cyber resilience is not strong enough.
  • There was a 150% surge in China-linked activity across all sectors.
  • Another statistic about the cost of cybercrimes stood out to us. It showed that cybercrime costs around the world are expected to grow by 15% per year over the next five years.
  • There was a 442% increase in vishing attacks (which are basically phishing attacks excpet that they make phone calls instead of sending emails) between early and late 2024.
  • One survey found that 52% of vulnerabilities observed by CrowdStrike in 2024 involved initial access.
  • There was a 600% increase since 2022 in the share of organizations that feel their cybersecurity is inadequate.
