While just about any PC threat is called a virus there are a wide range of threats from malware, spyware, adware, browser highjacks, trojans and rootkits.  Often times these all get lumped into the generic term of viruses.  In today’s world most threats encountered online are adware and browser highjack related.  These kinds of threats can often be easily un-installed by just doing a system restore on your computer.  This is where you take your computer back in time to when that software was not installed and it restores the previous settings on your computer.

Just type System Restore into the Window run command to try doing a system restore.  We recommend going back about two weeks if possible.  Once completed be sure to re-install any Windows updates and to run a full virus scan.  The system restore will undo any previous software changes such as Windows updates and installed programs.  However this is normally the easiest way to get rid of these kinds of threats.
