Yaimo.com Virus Removal Guide

 

This program categorized as a browser hijacker. The Yaimo.com virus can infect your computer through free software packages, in effect, will be able to control the web browser installed in your computer, whether it be Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome Internet Explorer and so on.

And when you make an attempt to take it out, the Yaimo.com pop-up with a message telling you to buy a certain program before you can continue. This browser hijacker will push you to get a paid version of the bogus software to remove the untrue spyware infection. The sole purpose of this kind of adware is to gain traffic on their malicious site. It will redirect you to unsafe and unfamiliar web sites.

In technical terms, Yaimo.com is not really a virus; hence, it is considered as a browser hijacker (also known as Adware), PUP (Patiently Unwanted Programs). Since nobody really wanted to install Yaimo.com immediately, it generally installs more softwares along with it. For the Manual Removal of Yaimo.com:

  • Go and click the Start button, then click the Control Panel.
  • Locate and click Programs, and then choose Uninstall a program or Program and Features (this for Windows 7, 8 and Vista).
  • While for Windows XP, click the Add/Remove Programs.
  • Then it will take you to a window with a list of installed programs.
  • This is the place where you can Uninstall Yaimo.com.
  • You can do the same to those programs on the list of “Suspicious Programs List”, (if ever you find any program installed in your PC. Below this list are the unwanted programs and you should uninstall them to keep your system safe.

Internet Explorer: Removal of Yaimo.com

Step1. For homepage removal

  • Access the Internet Explorer and proceed to the Tools menu (press F10 key to activate the menu bar).
  • Then click the Internet Option.
  • A configuration page will appear, and then click the General tab.
  • Under the Home Page Edit Box, you’ll see www.Yaimo.com, replace it with www.google.com.
  • Then click Apply and Close.

      Step 2. For Internet Explorer Add-on removal

  • Access the Internet Explorer and then proceed to the Tools menu (click F10 key to activate the menu bar).
  • Click the Internet Option.
  • A configuration page will be displayed, then click the Programs tab.
  • Then click the Manage Add-ons.
  • There will be window which has the list of Add-ons, Disable the Yaimo.com add-ons.
  • Do the same to those unknown/unwanted add-ons from this list.

Step 3. To reset the Internet Explorer

  • Access the Internet Explorer, and then click Tools menu (Press F10 key to activate the menu bar).
  • Click the Internet Option, then the internet option window will appear.
  • For Internet Explorer 9 and 10, click the gear icon and then click Tools.
  • Then click the Advanced tab, and then click the Reset button.
  • A new confirmation pop-up will be displayed, click the mark on Delete personal settings.
  • Next, click the Reset button.
  • In this part, you’ve restored your Internet Explorer to the default settings.
  • A message will be displayed saying “completed all the task”. Once completed, click the Close button.

 

Mozilla Firefox: Removal of Yaimo.com

Step 1. For homepage removal.

  • Access the Internet Explorer and proceed to the Tools menu (press F10 key to activate the menu bar).
  • Then click the Internet Option.
  • A configuration page will appear, and then click the General tab.
  • Under the Home Page Edit Box, you’ll see www.Yaimo.com, replace it with www.google.com.
  • Then click Apply and Close.
  • Reset the Mozilla Firefox Browser.

Step 2. For Internet Explorer Add-on removal

  • Access the Internet Explorer and then proceed to the Tools menu (click F10 key to activate the menu bar).
  • Click the Add-ons, this will take you to page, then click the Extensions (you can see this on the left side pane).
  • On the right side pane, you’ll see all the installed add-ons list. Disable or Remove Yaimo.com add-on.
  • Do the same to those unknown/unwanted add-ons from there.

 

Google Chrome: Removal of Yaimo.com

Step 1. For homepage removal.

  • Open Google Chrome and then click the three bar icon on Google (on the right top of the browser).
  • Then click the Settings, this will take you to the configuration page.
  • Locate the option named “Open a specific page or set of pages”, then click the Set Pages.
  • A window will appear with a list of URLs. Delete all of them.
  • Then only enter the one you want to use as your homepage.
  • From the same configuration page, now click the Manage search engines button.
  • Then, delete all of them, keep only the  www.google.com for your default search engine.

Step 2.Unwanted extension removal on Google Chrome.

  • Open the Google Chrome, and then click the 3 bar icon (on the top right part of your screen).
  • Click the Tools, then click on Extensions.
  • It will take you to the configuration page, you’ll see the installed extensions.
  • Now, remove the Yaimo.com extension and some with those unknown/unwanted extension there.
  • Click the Remove (recycle bin) Icon, this will remove them.
