Remove Palladium Anti-Virus

Palladium Antivirus is a false security client that seems to be a clone of or at least similar to Security Tool.

Like most of these fake seucrity clients, Palladium Antivirus blocks many programs from running. Users will find that their current security software does not run or shuts down right away.

Once Palladium Antivirus is installed on a users computer is constantly bugs the user by showing false scan results and false security errors. These types of error messages are meant to both scare and trick the user into making a purchase.

Remove Palladium Antivirus Manually:

To eliminate Palladium Antivirus from your computer, at first you need to stop the proces mentioned below: You may have just one or all of them running

  • Palladium.exe
  • PalladiumPro.exe
  • Palladiumantivirus.exe
  • Z.exe

You can stop the above processes by either using the Task Manager or by manually browsing to the file location and re-naming the file. Once you re-boot your computer the program will no longer be running and you can remove the file.

In safe mode this virus will not be running so you can just delte the file.

Once you are done with the initial step, you should delete the following file:

Windows XP:

  • C:\Program Files\Palladium Pro\

Windows Vista/7:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Palladium Pro\

You are also advised to conduct a complete scan with Spyware Doctor with Antivirus to find the path if you are facing any sort of difficulty.  From there the threat can be removed manually once it is identified.

Registry Removal Procedures for Palladium Antivirus

The following keys and settings are needed to be removed from the Windows registry:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Palladium”
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Palladium Pro”
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Palladium Antivirus”
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palladium Pro

At this point, most probably your system is almost free from Palladium Antivirus (if not completely). Now you need to perform a full virus scan. Use Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. You should also run disk cleanup to empty out the recycling bin and temp folders.

Palladium Antivirus Folder Paths:

  • Vista and Windows 7 Users:C:\Program Files (x86) \Palladium Antivirus
  • XP Users: C:\Program Files\Palladium Antivirus\
