MyStart Incredibar Removal

Depositphotos_9512283_originalMyStart Incedibar is a browser highjack.  It normally comes bundled with other free programs.  Once installed on a computer it highjacks your home page and search results. While the browser highjack Mystart Incredibar is not doing anything malicious on your computer it may show advertisements in the search results that are malicious.

Installing this program like other highjackers is very easy.  If you have a good antivirus client you should of been warned about the installation of the program.

You have a number of options to remove this threat from your computer.  A good antivirus program will be able to detect the installation of MyStart Incedibar and remove it for you.

You can also manually remove this threat by going to the Control Panel – Add Remove Programs – Select My Start Incedibar and then select un-install.  You may have to re-boot your computer for the program to be fully uninstalled.

Another option is to reset your web browser.  By resetting your webbrowser to the defaults you may loose other add-ons you have installed as well as cookies and bookmarks but it will generally work to remove the My Start Incedibar highjack from your web browser.

To be sure this highjack has been removed you can run a quick virus scan and see if all traces of the program have been removed.  If you manually reset your webbrowser the program may still be installed and there is most likely registry settings left over that the antivirus client will pick up.

Another simple tip to remove this threat is to do a simple system restore.  Basically you are taking your computer back in time when this program was not installed.  If you where just infected with this then select a restore point that is from a few days ago.  After the system restore your computer will re-boot.  Once you log in again it will tell you if the system restore completed successfully.  If it did then you are good to go.  If it did not you may need to select a different restore point to try out.
