Best DNS Providers of 2021 – Part 3

Here is the last installment of the best DNS providers of 2021. We hope it helps!

DNS.Watch

Okay, all that stuff about adding layers of customization and blocking some pages is fine. But you also have other alternatives like DNS.Watch, who prefer to offer you a full speed experience without any kind of control or censorship. They defend it by calling it “DNS Neutrality”, where nobody decides what you can see and what you can’t see.

The service also claims to defend your privacy by not keeping any logs of your activities, and they promise that your connection speed will not be compromised by using their service. All of this is offered completely free of charge, with no paid options for more advanced features.

This means that if you are looking for a service that gives you control over your browsing, allows you to block pages when your children surf or prevents you from entering fraudulent and dangerous pages better look at other options. This DNS is limited, as it says, in offering the fastest possible service while respecting your privacy and without blocking any type of content.

Primary and secondary DNS 84.200.69.80 and 84.200.70.40

SafeDNS

And we go from one extreme to another, because SafeDNS is very similar to OpenDNS, with parental controls and the possibility of blocking or allowing entry to certain pages that you decide. In addition, you can also apply filters to block different types of websites, such as adult, gambling and casino, pornographic, or with excessive or intrusive advertising among others.

It also blocks some ads at DNS level so that you do not have to spend time on blockers and the pages go faster, and as a member of the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation), it also automatically blocks pages that it detects that show sexual abuse of minors. Finally, it also has filters to block pages with malware, as well as phishing attacks, DDoS, DNS cache poisoning, botnets, and so on.

The downside is that most of these advanced filters are paid, with packs ranging from $19.95 per year for family protections and filters to various enterprise plans that start at $80 per year to protect 5 employees, and whose price goes up as the number of computers to be protected goes up.

Primary and secondary DNS 195.46.39.39 and 195.46.39.40.

AdGuard DNS

And let’s move on to a newcomer. AdGuard is a company that specializes in network-level ad blocking, and late last 2018 it released the final version of its own DNS. AdGuard DNS specializes in blocking ads, both videos and those from browsers, websites or even video games.

The protection also includes a series of filters with which you can make the content of certain applications or browsers not be blocked. It has a protection mode for families that blocks access to adult content and forces safe searches in the browser, and also blocks trackers, malware and phishing pages to enhance your security and privacy.

All in all, an interesting alternative for those who want to have a good amount of filtering options. The bad news is that its best options are not free, since it is part of the different AdGuard packs for mobile and computer, which have prices of around 20 euros per year.

Primary and secondary DNS 176.103.130.130 and 176.103.130.131

Dyn

Dyn DNS, belonging to Oracle, is a premium service aimed at companies and users who do not mind paying for premium protection. In its basic options you will find advanced protection against DDoS and phishing attacks, good speed and good geolocation. But if you want to take advantage of it, you will have to pay.

Its lowest pack is priced at $0.85 per million queries, although it also has two other options for small and medium-sized companies at $100 and $400. For the initial pack you get the so-called Managed DNS, which offers customization options to manage traffic, navigation data, user permissions and other advanced options.

In short, this is a solution for those who do not simply need a common DNS, but need one that allows them to control their computers’ browsing to the maximum and protect themselves against attacks.

Primary and secondary DNS 216.146.35.35 and 216.146.36.36

Cleanbrowsing

And we end with a different alternative, which is specially designed to block adult content when browsing. No more, no less. You can use it on any operating system as with any other DNS, but it also has an Android app with which it tries to make the process as easy as possible.

Cleanbrowsing follows a freemium model, with which the free version offers you three different types of filter to control browsing. On the other hand, its $5/month paid version offers up to 12 filters with support for up to 100 devices.

So, this is another DNS that is not intended for mainstream use, but is offered as a specific solution for parents and schools that want to keep adult content away from PC users.

DNS 185.228.168.168
