How to hide the likes count of your Instagram posts

Instagram is a very popular social networking site. Many people like using Instagram, because of its very open nature.

However, this is not always something that people enjoy. You might want to have a little more privacy. You may even want to hide some of your account details, such as the number of Likes that you have earned on your posts.

This may sound strange, since many people like to boast about the amount of attention that their posts have received. However, you might be embarrassed by the amount of likes your content has gotten, especially if you aren’t getting as much traction as somebody else.

You Can Hide the Amount of Likes that Your Content Has Received

We are going to explain how to hide the Like count of your Instagram posts, so that other users can’t see who has Like your posts. This is a new option that Facebook has started to implement on Instagram, and that is gradually reaching all users. When you activate it, only you will be able to see this Like or play count if it is a video, and the rest of the users will not see anything.

The tips in this article are from people that used iOS devices because the site has mostly been used on iPhones, but the methodology to make these changes should be the same also in the Android version of Instagram. It’s a feature that will be coming progressively, so it may take some time before you have it. With this method, you’ll be able to hide the Likes and view counts on specific posts, and you’ll have to go one by one because there’s no method to set it by default.

First Step to hide the likes on your post

To hide the likes of a photo or the view count of a video you have posted, you have to go into that post. Once inside, click on the three dots button at the top right to display the options menu of the post.

This will open the menu with options related to the publication. In this menu, you must click on the Hide Like count option. When you do this, other users will no longer be able to see who has liked your posts and how many of them have liked your posts.

If you want to re-enable the count on a post where you have it disabled, you have to do exactly the same thing. You have to click on the three dots button, only in the options menu, now where you have to click will be called Show Like count. On the other hand, if you want to know how to see people’s likes on instagram, you can actually do so by seeking services who possess such knowledge.

Hide the likes and counts of others

Another option now offered by Instagram, is to hide the Like counts and the number of plays of ALL posts on the social network, photo posts and video posts. This no longer has anything to do with your account, but is to not see the numbers of others.

To do this, you have to go directly to the application settings. Once inside, go to the Privacy section, and there click on the new option Publications. If you don’t have this option, you will have to wait until you get it. Within Publications, you must activate the option to Hide Like and Replay counts. You will be able to deactivate this option whenever you want.
