What Are the Best eSports Games to Watch in 2020?

The esports industry is growing at a remarkable rate.  According to Statistica, the global market for esports is expected to reach $1.79 billion within the next three years.

“In 2018, the global eSports market was valued at nearly 865 million U.S. dollars. According to the source’s estimates, global eSports market revenue will reach 1.79 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. The eSports industry is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years,” Statistica writes.

Despite its rapid growth, many consumers are still not very well informed about the state of the esports gaming industry. One of the biggest questions they ask is what the best esports games are available. They may want to participate in tournaments for the chance to make a lot of money or simply want to follow the tournaments out of interest.

Top eSports Games for the Coming Year

Are you interested in learning more about the thriving the sports industry, so you can watch esports online? Are you looking to get started by playing one of the popular games?

You can take a look at the games listed below. These are some of the top esports games from around the world. You can find some other games on this list from PC Magazine, but these are the absolute top of the list.

 League of legends

Many people believed that League of Legends would be a fad that would quickly die. It has proven to be a surprisingly resilient game. Rather than being a flash in the pan game, it has grown remarkably in recent years.

The total prize money for people playing League of Legends in 2019 is over $8.9 million.  The game organizes 45 different tournaments over the course of a year, which gives players plenty of opportunities to win prize money.

 Fortnite

While League of Legends is  still the most popular esports game, a number of other options are giving her a run for it’s money. Fortnite  is coming in at a close second for the most popular esports games of the year.

Fortnite  has organized 22 tournaments this year. Although the most participated tournament, the Fortnite World Cup,  has fewer attendees than League of Legends, the total prize money is actually several times as high. Players can earn $64.3 million by playing in these tournaments.

Dota 2

Many gaming industry critics used to think that Dota 2  was an acquired taste. They have proven to be wrong after recent market statistics have shown its incredible popularity.

Dota 2 has organized 24 different tournaments this year. The  total prize money is a stunning $46.2 million. Dota 2  Will probably become an even more popular sports game after the new year, which suggests that the prize money will be even higher.

Keep an eye out for developments in the esports industry

Anybody that is interested in following the esports industry should pay close attention to the different games available. Some games are up-and-coming, but they are still showing a lot of interest. The market potential for these games could be surprisingly high, which means that tournament prize money will be rather significant in the future.

People that develop an interest in new esports games could stand to  make a lot of money participating in tournaments if those games really take off. They should try to gauge the direction of the market and the types of games that will be popular, so they can get the most money for their efforts.
