Using myDGT to Set a Regular Driver
We are going to explain how to assign a regular driver to your vehicle using the miDGT application, so that from that moment on, any DGT notification or traffic fine will reach that person. It is a very simple procedure to do, and it will only take you a couple of minutes.
And with this option that has been implemented at the end of this August, miDGT is confirmed as an almost essential application. With it, you can receive and pay traffic fines, pay your car taxes or request car reports. In addition, it has your driver’s license and registration card, so you do not need to carry it physically if you are asked by the police.
Assign a regular driver
The first thing you have to do is open the myDGT application and log in. Then, open the side menu and click on the My vehicles section. If you prefer, you can also click on your vehicle on the main screen, because if you only have one, that will appear.
But if you go to the My vehicles section, you will also be able to enter your car there. This will take you to the vehicle’s data sheet, where you will see its license plate, chassis and other important information. Here, you now have to click on the three-dot button at the top right to open a menu of options.
When you click on the three dots button a small menu will open with a couple of options. Here, you have to click on the Assign regular driver option. You have to do this in the tab of the specific car you want to assign it to, and if you have more than one vehicle you should pay attention to which car or motorcycle you do it in.
The first thing you will see is a warning page explaining what will happen if you add a regular driver, and that in case of any incident, the administration will contact him first. Moreover, this is something that you can cancel or limit at any time. Click on the Accept and Continue button when you read it to proceed to make the changes.
And this will take you to a new screen where you have to add the data of the person you are going to add as a regular driver of that vehicle. This other person must have the myDGT app, since it will ask for his ID, and you must also add his date of birth and until when you want him to be the usual driver. When you are done, click on Send.
