Advanced Shopping Hacks with Etsy

We previously shared some details on using Etsy to find homemade crafts and vintage products. We covered the nuances of the search tool. However, we wanted to go into some more elaborate tips for looking for products on this e-commerce platform.

We previously gave an example of using the search features to find gifts for a friend that likes plants. Now we are going to cover some other tips on searching through this platform.

If no planter convinces you after doing the search (which is rare after the beautiful things I’ve seen, but hey, it can happen), why not take a look at the categories to get ideas?

Search by category

If you still think that surprising your friend with something original to decorate the house is the best option, but you’re not so sure what to get her, browsing through the “Home & Decor” category on Etsy can help you find the perfect gift.

Clicking on that category will open a page with other subcategories.

You might still find other classifications within each subcategory when you enter them.

It is hard not to find something you like among so many options, right?

Viewing ads

One of the search results really catches your eye – you got it! You think you’ve found the perfect gift for your friend.

Click on the photo to go to the ad and learn more.

Will it arrive in time for the housewarming if you order it today? Will it be too expensive to add shipping costs? What if it gets lost? Will the seller be trustworthy?

You’ll find the answer to all these questions, and more, by reading all the product information in detail.

View the seller’s profile

If you decide to go to the seller’s profile, you will end up on a page where you can discover the most personal side of their brand.

The downside is that if you don’t aren’t familiar with the industry and the owner has written technical details that you don’t understand, you won’t find out much. You will want to do more research to make sure you aren’t getting a bad deal first.

Viewing the store

If you are interested in having a general look at the store, you just have to access it by clicking on its name wherever it appears, for example, on the top left of the screen when you view an ad.

On the store page you can find its most characteristic data, especially at the beginning.

Below the banner and the name, you can see what the store does, where it is located and how much it has sold since it was created.

On the right you can contact the seller or access an internal search engine.

An interesting thing to pay attention to is the store’s message. There they usually announce important news.

If you keep scrolling down the page you will see more information, such as other items, their categories, reviews, updates, a presentation…

I’m not going to keep posting images of all those sections because this post will take forever.

Besides, all this information, in one way or another, has already appeared before. You’re not going to find anything weird that you don’t know what it is.

Now that you have an idea of what Etsy is, you might be interested in knowing what its strengths and weaknesses are, don’t you think?
