Remove chat from your Twitch broadcasts: to what extent is it possible and how to limit it as much as possible?

Twitch is a very popular platform that is used by 9.1 million creators. Over 100 billion minutes of twitch content were watched over the past year.

However, there are still some challenges for some people using this platform. One issue they run into is trying to limit some of the messaging functionality.

Remove chat from your Twitch broadcasts: to what extent is it possible and how to limit it as much as possible?

We are going to explain you what you can do to try as much as possible, how to limit as much as possible the conversations in your Twitch chat, so that you can make sure that almost nobody can talk in them. It would be the closest thing you can do to disabling the chat that appears when you are doing your live broadcasts.

Unfortunately, Twitch does not allow you to remove the chat from your broadcasts, although you can make a few changes to your settings so that only the most senior subscribers can do so. If you’re not a superstar, this probably won’t affect you at all, since you’ve had a lot of subscribers for a long time. But if you are just starting out on the platform, this can be useful in case you don’t want anyone to write to you.

Limit Twitch chat as much as possible

The first thing you need to do is log into Twitch and sign in with the account you’re going to be broadcasting from. Now, click on your profile image at the top right, and click on the Creator Control Panel option that will appear in the menu that will open.

When you enter the Creator Control Panel screen, you should notice the column on the left with several sections. In it, open the Settings section and click on the Moderation option that will appear in the third place.

What you have to do here is to activate the Followers Only Mode setting the maximum time possible, which right now is only 3 months. This way, only users that have been following your channel for more than 3 months will be able to write in the chat, so you will save new users that don’t know anything about how you broadcast or what you like and start bothering you.

You won’t be able to do more, but at least, this option will allow you to avoid those people who only come in to bother you in the chat. In three months time, subscribers have already had time to understand how you work, and hopefully their messages will be better.
