Definition: Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line: the most promising of the family of xDSL technologies, in which the data rate from the ISP is greater than the data rate to the ISP. Projections are for capacities of more than 6 Mbit/s to the home and anywhere between 64- and 640 Kbit/s from the home to the ISP.
