Hi!
I have a Dell Inspiron 8600. Lately, my LCD screen has become completely black after it has been on for less than 5 minutes. It boots up as it normally would, and then when the user account screen appears, the screen flickers and becomes black. The power light, however, remains on.
But I also discovered a strange twist to this problem: it only occurs when the laptop is plugged in. When it's running on battery power, the screen acts normally.
What could possibly be going on? I have had issues with the LCD monitor before, to the extent that I had to replace it when it was under Dell's warranty. What is the problem part, and what are my options to fix it?
